San Francisco-based digital health startup raised $55M in funding: 5 observations

Grand Rounds, a digital health startup, raised $55 million in new capital, according to Reuters.

Here are five observations:

1. Grand Rounds provides a platform for patients to receive second opinions from healthcare providers.

2. More than 120 countries and 110 U.S. institutions currently connect with patients through the app and website.

3. Officials from the startup said it will use the money to boost its technology, care team and analytic platform.

4. With this round of funding, Grand Rounds' total funding hit $106 million.

5. More than 80 percent of the startup's revenue is attributed to companies hoping to save on employee healthcare plans, according to Reuters.
