Sacramento Republic FC defender undergoes surgery at UC Davis Health System's Outpatient Surgery Center

Professional soccer player Emrah Klimenta underwent anterior cruciate ligament surgery at UC Davis Health System's Outpatient Surgery Center in Sacramento, according to USL.

Here are five things to know:

1. Cassandra Lee, MD, performed surgery to repair Mr. Klimenta's ACL in his left knee. Mr. Klimenta plays for the Sacramento Republic FC.

2. Equipped with four operating rooms, the surgery center houses 12 pre- and post-op beds.

3. The surgery center is 12,231 square feet and is projected to cost between $9 million and $10 million.

4. UC David Health began construction on the center in October 2006.

5. Dr. Lee said the surgery was a success and she projects Mr. Klimenta will be on the field in a few months following physical therapy.
