A new medical office building at the Sentara Albemarle Regional Health Campus in Elizabeth City, N.C., is only 45% occupied by medical practices, according to a Sept. 17 report from the Daily Advance.
The campus cost the system an estimated $200 million and includes a 235,000-square-foot hospital with up to 90 beds in addition to the 83,000-square-foot medical office building.
Virginia Oncology Associates has already begun operating at the new office facility, while several more medical services are expected to move in when the campus fully opens in 2025.
The building will house specialties including general and vascular surgery, pediatrics, obstetrics and gynecology, and orthopedics and otolaryngology services as well as a wound treatment center.
