Only one of the 12 recipients of Leapfrog's 2022 Top Ambulatory Surgery Center Award is located in the West: Reno (Nev.) Orthopedic Surgery Center. Reno Orthopedic was also the only western-based surgery center among the 28 named the best of 2023 by Leapfrog and online magazine Money. Additionally, only one surgery center winner in 2023 is located in the Midwest: Riverside Outpatient Surgery Center, based in Columbus, Ohio.
The 2022 Top ASC award winners were determined by analyzing data from the annual Leapfrog ASC Survey, which examines how well centers are upholding quality standards in staffing, hand hygiene, infection rates, practices for safer surgery, maternity care and error prevention.
