Melissa Rivers has engaged law firm Gair, Gair, Conason, Steigman, Mackauf, Bloom and Rubinowitz to investigate New York ambulatory surgery center Yorkville Endoscopy following the death of her mother Joan Rivers, according to a BBC News report.
"In order to fully determine the facts and circumstances surround the death of Joan Rivers, we confirm that our firm has been engaged by Melissa Rivers and her family," said Ben Rubinowitz, JD, a partner of the firm, according to the report.
Ms. Rivers' cause of death was confirmed brain damage due to lack of oxygenated blood. Whether or not the legal investigation will lead to a civil claim against Yorkville Endoscopy remains to be seen.
