The Trump administration is taking various actions to help address and contain the spread of COVID-19, according to a CMS news release.
Four measures CMS is implementing to manage the coronavirus outbreak:
1. Temporarily waiving or modifying certain requirements for Medicare, Medicaid and the Children's Health Insurance Program.
2. Temporarily suspending certain Medicare enrollment screening requirements.
3. Encouraging state Medicaid agencies to request flexibilities available under Section 1135, such as the ability to permit out-of-state providers to render services.
4. Temporarily suspending nonemergency survey inspections.
