Feather River Hospital in Paradise, Calif., sustained devastating damage from California's deadliest wildfires, according to the Chico Enterprise-Record.
Here's what you should know:
1. The hospital's lower level was extensively damaged, and many outpatient buildings and offices were destroyed.
2. The outpatient surgery center, emergency department, maternity ward and a large clinic are still standing. The birth center is also intact but was damaged by water.
3. All 67 hospital patients were safely evacuated Nov. 8, the day the fire broke out. They were transferred to Chico, Calif.-based Enloe Medical Center, Oroville (Calif.) Hospital and other local hospitals.
4. Feather River Hospital is Paradise's largest employer. Some hospital employees and physicians whose jobs were interrupted have been working out of nearby clinics, and all whose jobs were affected will receive full pay and benefits through Feb. 5.
5. Roseville, Calif.-based Adventist Health owns Feather River Hospital.
"We're doing everything we can to restore needed services," said Jill Kinney, Adventist Health's administrative director of marketing and communications for the Northern California region. "We remain committed to providing healthcare services for Butte County."
