Keith Meister, MD, will perform outpatient surgery on Texas Rangers manager Jeff Banister, according to a Sports Day report.

1. Mr. Banister will undergo arthroscopic surgery on his right elbow. He has spent 30 years in professional baseball.
2. Dr. Meister is director of TMI Sports Medicine & Orthopedics in Arlington, Texas, and head team physician for the Texas Rangers.
3. He is a member of the American Orthopedic Society for Sports Medicine and American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons.
4. He focuses on arthroscopy/reconstruction, comprehensive treatment of the overhead/throwing athlete and treatment of other musculoskeletal sports injuries.
5. He completed fellowships at Orthopedic & Fracture Clinic of Eugene (Ore.), University of Virginia in Charlottesville, Alabama Sports Medicine Institute in Birmingham and The Institute of Orthopedics Royal National Orthopedic Hospital in England.
