The average signing bonus for physicians in 2022 and 2023 is $37,473, according to AMN Healthcare's "2023 Review of Physician and Advanced Practitioner Recruiting Incentives" report released July 24.
The data was based on a representative sample of 2,676 physician and advanced practitioner search engagements during the 12-month period of April 1, 2022, to March 31, 2023.
The highest recorded physician signing bonus reached $570,000, while the lowest was $500, according to the report.
For nurse practitioners and physician assistants, the average signing bonus reached $8,355, while the highest recorded bonus hit $25,000 and the lowest sat at $2,000.
