ground on ASC
Orthopaedic Associates of Zanesville (Ohio) and SurgCenter Development broke ground on a $1.1 million surgery center that is expected to open in the spring. The 5,000-square-foot center will house two operating rooms and focus on orthopedics.
Tenet shares fall 15%
Mizuho Securities analysts downgraded Tenet shares 15 percent. Covering analyst Sheryl Skolnick downgraded Tenet shares from an "outperform" rating to a "neutral" rating.
Medicare Advantage members are on average more satisfied with their health plans than commercial plan members
Medicare Advantage members reported an average satisfaction score of 774 out of 1,000 for their plan. Commercial plan members gave their plan an average score of 679.
UnityPoint begins construction on Iowa outpatient surgery center
UnityPoint started construction on a medical park in Ankeny, Iowa, which will include an outpatient surgery center. The medical park is expected to open during the fourth quarter of 2016, and the outpatient center will open in 2017.
ACA losing ground among US healthcare providers
Less healthcare providers stated the Affordable Care Act is pushing in the right direction for healthcare compared to one year ago. Nearly eight out of 10 providers feel the ACA needs legal provisions.

39% of ACA co-ops going out of business
Nearly 39 percent of the health insurance co-ops created under the Affordable Care Act are going out of business. South Carolina's Consumers' Choice Health Insurance is the ninth health insurance co-op to go out of business, leaving 67,000 businesses and individuals without health insurance.
