3 recent robotics updates at ASCs

Here are three robotics updates from ASCs that Becker's has reported on since Aug 1:

1. Lubbock, Texas-based Covenant High Plains Surgery Center has become the first ASC in the region to perform a robotic sacrocolpopexy using the da Vinci X robot.

2. Wilmington (N.C.) Health added a Da Vinci XI robot for minimally invasive procedures to its ASC, becoming the first standalone, nonhospital-affiliated facility to use robotic surgical equipment in the state.

3. Bradenton, Fla.-based Coastal Orthopedics added two surgical robots — Cori by Smith + Nephew and Velys by DePuy Synthes — to its ASC. The new robots will join the Stryker Mako robot the ASC currently uses for knee replacement procedures.
