More than 200 Indiana healthcare providers and coalition partners will participate in an emergency preparedness exercise Oct. 12.
Here are five details:
1. The exercise will test healthcare system capabilities in eight Indiana counties.
2. Thirty-six hospitals and nearly 140 healthcare partner facilities — including long-term care facilities, ASCs, rural health clinics, dialysis centers, home health hospice and physician offices — will take part.
3. The exercise is intended to help facilities meet emergency preparedness requirements, improve responses and be more self-sustaining during emergency events.
4. Vantage Point Consulting will select an emergency situation, set objectives and evaluate results of the operational exercise.
5. The exercise won't impact services for visitors, residents and patients.
