Michael Gossman, BSBA, CASC, is the administrator at the Cedar Lake Surgery Center in Biloxi, Miss., a multi-specialty center. Established in 1977, it was the first freestanding surgery center to be built in Mississippi and now boasts 16,000 square feet. It can accommodate 23-hour stays and has separate space for endoscopy and pain management. The surgery center includes ENT, plastics, GI, orthopedics, podiatry, pain management, GYN, general surgery and ophthalmology.
Mr. Gossman has more than 25 years of administrative experience in the ambulatory surgery industry, having served as administrator of Cedar Lake Surgery Center since 1995. Prior to joining Cedar Lake Surgery Center, Mr. Gossman served as administrator of Lake Forrest Surgery Center for one year and administrator of Methodist Ambulatory Surgery Center for more than seven years.
In addition to his healthcare administrative experience, Mr. Gossman has served in leadership roles within healthcare advocacy groups. From 2004 to 2008, he served as president of the Mississippi Ambulatory Surgery Association. He is also a member of the Medical Group Management Association and Mississippi Medical Group Management Association.
