The study cited the lack of communication between physician practices and vendors as the greatest concern, and found more than 52 percent of respondents have not heard from their practice management system vendors regarding software changes.

Other findings include:
•    4.8 percent of practices have made "significant progress" when rating overall ICD-10 readiness.
•    11.9 percent said external testing with their clearinghouse has started or is complete.
•    60 percent said they have not heard from their clearinghouses regarding a testing date.
•    5.9 percent said internal testing has begun or is complete with practice management software, 4.7 percent with their EHR.
