Other highlights of the update include the deletion of HCPCS code C9729 (Percutaneous laminotomy/laminectomy (intralaminar approach) for decompression of neural elements, (with ligamentous resection, discectomy, facetectomy and/or foraminotomy, when performed) any method under indirect image guidance, with the use of an endoscope when performed, single or multiple levels, unilateral or bilateral; lumbar), which is replaced by CPT 0275T, and the addition of three new HCPCS drug and biological codes.

The new HCPCS drug and biological codes and their descriptors are:

  • Q2041 (Injection, von willebrand factor complex (human), Wilate, 1 i.u. vwf:rco)
  • Q2042 (Injection, hydroxyprogesterone caproate, 1 mg)
  • Q2043 (Sipuleucel-t, minimum of 50 million autologous cd54+ cells activated with pap-gm-csf, including leukapheresis and all other preparatory procedures, per infusion)
