Here’s what you should know:
1. Oscar Health is expanding into Ohio through the partnership.
2. These insurance plans will be the Cleveland Clinic’s first attempt to sell insurance.
3. The deal is pending regulatory approval. The insurance products could be available as soon as fall 2017. The companies expect to make the plans available through ACA exchanges beginning Jan. 1, 2018.
4. Cleveland Clinic CFO Steve Glass said in a release, “Together, Cleveland Clinic and Oscar Health intend to offer a different approach, one that breaks down the complexities between providers and insurers, allowing our patients to easily navigate the healthcare and health insurance systems, get the highest quality care at a reasonable price, and improve their overall health.”
