AMIA: ICD-10 Transition to Be Convoluted

A study published in the Journal of the American Medical Informatics Association showed how complicated the ICD-10 transition will be, according to an ICD-10 Watch report.

AMIA's ICD-9 to ICD-10 transition tool pinpoints which transitions will be easier and harder.
According to their data, obstetrics, psychiatry and emergency medicine will be the most challenging while hematology and oncology will be easier.

Also, 27 percent of emergency room diagnoses will have convoluted mappings.
