America's Health Insurance Plans Spends $2.2M on Federal Lobbying in 2Q

America's Health Insurance Plans spent $2.2 million on federal lobbying from April to June of 2011, according to a Bloomberg Businessweek report.

AHIP lobbied on health insurance exchanges and lifetime and annual benefits limits and other provisions tied to healthcare reform, according to the report. The spending represents a 5 percent decrease from the $2.3 million spent in last year's second quarter and a 6 percent decreased from the spending in the first quarter of 2011.

AHIP lobbied on a provisions regarding medical loss ratios, medical liability reforms, Medicare Advantage issues, long-term care insurance reforms and other issues.
