AAPC has launched its Certified Professional Biller credential for medical revenue cycle personnel looking for additional skills.
The CPB credential tests medical coders' abilities to:
• Comprehend various insurance policies,
• Correctly apply payor policy, local coverage determinations and national, coverage determinations,
• Know CPT, ICD-9-CM and HCPCS Level 11 coding guidelines,
• Navigate HIPAA, False Claims Act, Stark and Fair Debt Collection Act rules,
• And more.
To become a CPB, professionals must pass a 200-question exam. A 50-question online practice exam can be found on the AAPC website.
