1. Price transparency. Patients expecting to know a procedure’s cost up front have pushed price transparency to the forefront. Additionally, CMS put regulations in place requiring facilities to post prices of procedures.
2. New ways of paying for procedures. Patients requiring flexibility for paying for procedures through payment plans have become more common.
3. New contracting opportunities. Rising healthcare costs have driven more employers to work directly with providers for their employees’ healthcare, which could impact ASC revenue through a change in payer mix.
