The Joint Commission awarded Atlanta-based Polaris Spine & Neurosurgery Center its Gold Seal of Approval for Ambulatory Health Care Accreditation after an unannounced onsite survey.
1. The Joint Commission surveyors evaluated the center's coordination of care, anesthesia or sedation procedures, infection prevention and control, medication management, patient education and training.
2. The Gold Seal of Approval is awarded to organizations demonstrating a commitment to providing safe, effective patient care.
3. The Joint Commission's Ambulatory Care Accreditation Program Executive Director Pearl Darling congratulated the center on the achievement.
"We commend Polaris Spine and its staff for achieving this pinnacle demonstrating a commitment to patient safety and quality," Ms. Darling said. "Your passion, dedication and tenacity can ultimately improve patient care. Thank you for your commitment to patient safety and entrusting The Joint Commission to assist you."
