AAAHC names Dr. Vicky Gordon interim president & CEO: 3 notes

The Accreditation Association for Ambulatory Health Care's board of directors named Vicky Gordon, PhD, interim president and CEO.

Here are three notes:

1. The AAAHC was founded in 1979 and accredits various ambulatory surgery centers as well as office-based centers, military health clinics, medical homes and other practices.

2. Since its inception, AAAHC has accredited more than 6,000 organizations throughout the nation.

3. Between Jan. 1 and March 31, 2016, the AAAHC accredited 40 new organizations.

"Dr. Gordon brings the needed experience and knowledge to lead the organization through this transition period," said Meena Desai, MD, AAAHC's board chair. "The Accreditation Association and its affiliates will continue to provide all services in a comprehensive and uninterrupted manner to all of our clients and customers. We thank all involved for their support as we work through this transition."
