AAAHC names 4 officers, elects 3 directors

The Accreditation Association for Ambulatory Health Care appointed four officers and elected three members to serve on its board of directors in 2020.

AAAHC's 2020 officers are Ira Cheifetz, DMD, board chair; Timothy J. Peterson, MD, chair-elect; Arnaldo Valedon, MD, immediate past board chair; and David Shapiro, MD, secretary and treasurer.

The four officers "bring extensive experience and expertise in patient-centric ambulatory care" to their roles, AAAHC said in a press release.

W. Patrick Davey, MD, Robin J. Elwood, MD, and David N. Gans were elected to serve as directors. They are tasked with supporting AAAHC's focus on engagement and growth opportunities.

AAAHC has accredited more than 6,100 organizations since it was established in 1979.
