1. Alaska Surgery Center was founded in 1977 by eight physicians and a dentist to offer high quality care at a lower cost to patients.
2. The center is now affiliated with Deerfield, Ill.-based Surgical Care Affiliates, and is a partnership between 32 local physicians.
3. Alaska Surgery Center has three locations, and has treated over 140,000 patients to date.
