Here are the standards The Joint Commission shared:
1. Building and fire protection features are designed and maintained to minimize the effects of fire, smoke and heat.
2. The organization reduces the risk of infections associated with medical equipment, devices and supplies.
3. The organization grants initial, renewed or revised clinical privileges to individuals who are permitted by law and the organization to practice individually.
4. The organization safely stores medications.
5. The organization implements infection prevention and control activities.
6. The organization manages risks associated with its utility systems.
7. The organization maintains the safety equipment and fire safety building features.
8. The organization manages the risks related to hazardous material and waste.
9. The organization inspects, tests and maintains emergency power systems.
10. The organization inspects, tests and maintains medical equipment.
