Physician Partners of America adds Dr. Taufiq Ahmed — 4 key notes

Orlando, Fla.-based Physician Partners of America hired Taufiq Ahmed, MD, to practice out of its Orlando location.

1. Dr. Ahmed is an interventional pain management physician.

2. He earned his medical degree from Morgantown-based University of West Virginia. He completed an anesthesiology residency at Atlanta-based Emory University School of Medicine and a fellowship at Charlottesville-based University of Virginia.

3. Dr. Ahmed began his career as an anesthesiologist in South Boston, Va.-based Halifax Regional Hospital before becoming an attending physician in interventional pain management and general anesthesiology at University of Florida School of Medicine Shands Jacksonville (Fla.) Hospital.

4. He is a member of several professional organizations including the American Society of Interventional Pain Physicians and American Board of Pain Medicine.
