Indiana Gov. Mike Pence named anesthesiologist Jerome Adams, MD, commissioner of the Indiana State Department of Health, according to a Daily Journal report.
Dr. Adams is a staff anesthesiologist Indianapolis-based Eskenazi Health and an assistant professor of clinical anesthesia at the Indiana University School of Medicine. He also chairs the professional diversity committee for the American Society of Anesthesiologists, according to the report.
