Albany Medical Center Acquires Masimo Patient Monitoring System

Albany (N.Y.) Medical Center, one of the biggest hospitals in the region, has converted to Masimo rainbow sensors for its advanced noninvasive patient monitoring.

The conversion will allow AMC's clinicians to measure multiple blood constituents, fluid responsiveness, respiration rate and other physiological parameters without invasive blood draws or laboratory analysis.

The rainbow SET Pulse CO-Oximetry allows anesthesiologists to measure total hemoglobin, oxygen content, carboxyhemoglobin, metheglobin, and pleth variability index. The Masimo technology also aims to eliminate false alarms and increase a clinician's ability to detect life-threatening events.
