Developer Brian Lichterman and his associates plan to expand in the Sarasota, Fla., region through a new ASC and medical office building, according to the Herald Tribune.
Here are five insights:
1. The surgery center is 17,000 square feet.
2. Florida's Agency of Healthcare Administration approved Sarasota (Fla.) Memorial's application to build a 110-bed hospital in Venice back in December 2016.
3. In December 2016, the state Agency of Healthcare Administration also approved applications for Venice Regional's plan to move 210 of its existing 312 beds to its new hospital campus. Both hospitals have challenged each other's state approval.
4.To build the ASC and office building, Mr. Lichterman must apply to Sarasota County for a small area comprehensive plan amendment and change in zoning.
5. Currently, the lot is zoned for moderate density residential and undefined commercial centers.
