On Nov. 2, The U.S. District Court of Northern Illinois dismissed a federal false claims suit filed by whistleblowers against Chicago's Midwest Orthopaedics at Rush, several of its physicians and Rush University Medical Center.
U.S. District Court Judge Ruben Castillo dismissed the case in its entirety against all defendants
MOR has always maintained that the lawsuit was without merit. "We are appreciative that the case was dismissed and that we can move forward and focus on the needs of and care for our patients. MOR is proud of the high quality care that we provide and of our longstanding relationship with the Rush University Medical Center community," says MOR president and managing partner Charles Bush-Joseph, MD. "Our guiding principles have always been clinical excellence, world-class research and educational leadership while maintaining high ethical standards. These principles remain the foundation and mission for Midwest Orthopaedics at Rush."
