Camden, N.J.-based Our Lady of Lourdes Medical Center and Philadelphia-based Thomas Jefferson University Hospital’s Division of Gastroenterology and Hepatology are partnering to expand liver disease services to South New Jersey residents, according to SNJ Today.
Here are four key notes:
1. Our Lady of Lourdes Medical Center appointed Manish Thapar, MD, medical director of the Lourdes Liver Transplant Program.
2. Dr. Thapar serves as the assistant professor of medicine for the gastroenterology and hepatology division at the Sidney Kimmel Medical College, affiliated with Thomas Jefferson University, in Philadelphia.
3. Lourdes Health System is the sole solid organ transplant center in Southern New Jersey.
4. Dr. Thapar will see patients at Lourdes Medical Associates Southern New Jersey Center for Liver Disease in Cherry Hill.
"Our collaboration with Lourdes provides a much-needed coordination for transplant hepatology services across our region," said Anthony DiMarino, MD, director of division of gastroenterology and hepatology, Thomas Jefferson University Hospital.
