New York City-based NYU Langone tapped Theodore Welling III, MD, to lead a new liver cancer program at the medical center.
Here's what you should know.
1. The program aims to advance critical care and accelerate the research efforts.
2. Dr. Welling will direct the Liver Tumor Program at the Perlmutter Cancer Center. He previously was the co-director of the Multidisciplinary Liver Tumor Program at the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor.
3. Dr. Welling specializes in liver transplantation, laparoscopic liver surgery as well as surgery related to bile duct and hepatic vascular resection and reconstruction.
