The Kenneth Rainin Foundation has awarded 27 grants totaling more than $3 million to research projects that investigate inflammatory bowel disease. The grants, awarded through the foundation's Innovator and Breakthrough Awards programs, support projects that study innovative therapeutics, disease risk factors and nutrition, among other topics.
Here are five of the grant recipients:
1. Milena Bogunovic, MD, PhD, Pennsylvania State University
2. John Chang, MD, University of California, San Diego
3. Christopher Contag, PhD, Stanford University in California
4. Nobuhiko Kamada, PhD, University of Michigan in Ann Arbor
5. Corinne Maurice, PhD, McGill University in Montreal, Canada
The foundation also announced that its sixth annual Innovations Symposium, which provides a platform to discuss new IBD developments, is slated for July 24 and July 25 in San Francisco.
