GI physician leader to know: Dr. Simon Robson of Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center

Simon C. Robson, MD, is chief of gastroenterology and the Charlotte F. and Irving W. Rabb Professor of Medicine at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center in Boston. He is also a professor of medicine at Harvard Medical School and has ties with Transplant Biology Research Center at Massachusetts General Hospital, both located in Boston. He runs the Robson research laboratory at Beth Israel.

Dr. Robson is a physician scientist and researcher within the Liver, Transplantation and Vascular Biology Centers at Beth Israel. His clinical and research interests include liver disease and vascular biology. His work has been published in a number of peer-reviewed publications, including Inflammatory Bowel Diseases, BMC Cancer and The American Journal of Medicine.

Dr. Robson earned his medical degree at the University of Cape Town in Africa. He has completed his residency and fellowships at Groote Schuur Hospital/University of Cape Town as well as King's College Hospital and Warwick Hospital in the United Kingdom.
