Katherine Schuver Garman, MD, is an assistant professor of medicine and gastroenterologist at Durham, N.C.-based Duke Medicine. She is also a member of the Duke Cancer Institute.
Dr. Garman's research focuses on injury, repair and cancer development in the gastrointestinal tract. Her laboratory uses databases of esophageal and colon disease to learn more about clinical risk factors for disease. Her work has been published in prestigious journals such as Digestive Diseases and Sciences, Gastrointestinal Endoscopy and Nature.
Dr. Garman earned her medical degree and completed her residency and GI fellowship at Duke University School of Medicine.
