James R. Schlais, MD, practices with GastroIntestinal Associates in Wausau, Wis., which he joined in 1999. He also performs procedures at the Pinnacle III-affiliated Northwoods Surgery Center in Woodruff, Wis., and is affiliated with Aspirus Wausau Hospital. He is a member of American Society for Gastrointestinal Endoscopy, American College of Gastroenterology and Crohn's and Colitis Foundation of America.
Dr. Schlais has also previously provided care at LaSalle Clinic's department of gastroenterology and LaSalle Surgery Center in Menasha, Wis., where he served as medical director. He is board-certified in internal medicine and gastroenterology. His clinical interests include acid reflux disease, constipation, hepatitis C and irritable bowel syndrome.
Dr. Schlais earned his medical degree from the University of Wisconsin Medical School in Madison. He completed his residency and fellowship at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical School at Dallas and affiliated hospitals.
