James Dimitroff, MD, joined St. Louis Gastroenterology Consultants in 1994, where he currently practices. He is also section chief of gastroenterology and medical director of the Endoscopy Laboratory at Saint Anthony's Medical Center in St. Louis, and he holds a clinical appointment at Saint Louis University School of Medicine.
Dr. Dimitroff is a member of the American Gastroenterological Association, American College of Gastroenterology and American Society of Gastrointestinal Endoscopy. He focuses on pancreatic and biliary disease, inflammatory bowel disease, liver disease and colon cancer screening. He is also involved in clinical research trials in inflammatory bowel disease, irritable bowel syndrome and hepatitis at the Saint Louis Center for Clinical Research.
Dr. Dimitroff earned his medical degree at Southern Illinois University Edwardsville and completed his residency at Southern Illinois University School of Medicine in Springfield, where he received the Barry Breen Memorial Award for Outstanding Medical Resident. He completed his gastroenterology/hepatology fellowship at University of Kentucky in Lexington.
