GI physician leader to know: Dr. Gulshan Parasher of University of New Mexico

Gulshan Parasher, MD, is a clinical associate professor of medicine in the Division of Gastroenterology and Hepatology at the University of New Mexico in Albuquerque. He also serves as the director for endoscopic and clinical operations. He serves as a governor for the American College of Gastroenterology.    

Dr. Parasher's clinical interests include acute and chronic pancreatitis, pancreatic cancer and cystic neoplasms as well as management of difficult common duct stones. He also has expertise in therapeutic pancreaticobiliary endoscopy and endoscopic ultrasonography.

Dr. Parasher earned his medical degree at University College of Medical in India. He completed an internal medicine residency at Maimonides Medical Center in New York. He completed a gastroenterology fellowship at SUNY Health Sciences Center in Syracuse, N.Y., and an advanced endoscopy fellowship at the University of California Medical Center in Irvine.
