GI physician leader to know: Dr. Chin Hur of Massachusetts General Hospital

Chin Hur, MD, is an associate professor of medicine at Harvard Medical School and director of GI health outcomes research at the Massachusetts General Hospital, both located in Boston. He has received numerous awards from the National Institutes of Health as well as other research foundations.

Dr. Hur's clinical interests include gastroesophageal reflux disease, Barrett's esophagus, esophageal adenocarcinoma as well as gastrointestinal cancer screening. He also has an interested in benign esophageal conditions such as eosinophilic esophagitis. His research focuses on decision analysis and simulation disease modeling as well as the application of these methodologies to the management of cancers and pre-malignant states. Dr. Hur's work has been published in a number of professional publications, including Hepatology and World Journal of Gastroenterology.

Dr. Hur earned his medical degree at Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine in Baltimore. He completed his residency at The Johns Hopkins Hospital and GI fellowship at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center in Boston.
