Mark Pochapin, MD, is the director of gastroenterology and the vice chair for clinical affairs at New York City-based NYU Langone Medical Center.
Dr. Pochapin specializes in the prevention, detection and diagnosis of gastrointestinal cancers and in performing endoscopic procedures.
He began his career after earning his medical degree from Ithaca, N.Y.-based Cornell University. He completed a residency at New York City-based New York Presbyterian Hospital and his fellowship at New York City-based Montefiore Medical Center.
Dr. Pochapin became a gastroenterologist because "the gastrointestinal system plays a critical role in virtually every aspect of our health," he said.
He has been published in several peer-reviewed publications.
