Charles Barish, MD, is a gastroenterologist at Raleigh, N.C.-based Wake Gastroenterology.
Dr. Barish joined Wake in 1985 while founding Wake Research Associates at the same time. He serves as a clinical assistant professor of medicine at the Chapel Hill-based University of North Carolina.
He treats most GI disorders but has an expertise in the diagnosis and management of inflammatory bowel disease.
His career began after he earned his medical degree from the Gainesville, Fla.-based University of Florida. He completed his internship, residency and fellowship at Wake Forest University in Winston-Salem, N.C.
Dr. Barish is active in many professional societies. He is a fellow of the American College of Physicians, the American College of Gastroenterology and the American Gastroenterological Association.
