Thomas C. Mahl, MD, is chief of the gastroenterology, hepatology and nutrition division at State University of New York at Buffalo.
Dr. Mahl's clinical interests include hepatitis, alcoholic and nonalcoholic liver disease, cirrhosis, ascites and portosystemic encephalopathy. He performs endoscopies, colonoscopies and paracentesis on patients at Buffalo (N.Y.) VA Medical Center. He is a member of the American Association for the Study of Liver Disease, American Liver Foundation, Hepatitis B Foundation, Medical Union at Buffalo and American Gastroenterological Association.
Dr. Mahl earned his medical degree from the University at Buffalo (N.Y.) and completed his residency at UConn Health-John Dempsey Hospital in Farmington. He underwent a gastroenterology fellowship at Yale School of Medicine in New Haven, Conn.
