John T. Lamont, MD, is the interim chief of gastroenterology at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center in Boston. The gastroenterology department includes more than 30 gastroenterologists who focus on patient care and research. Services at the center include treatment for celiac disease, endoscopy, irritable bowel syndrome and Crohn's disease.
Dr. Lamont is affiliated with Harvard Medical Faculty Physicians and has a special interest in gastrointestinal infections, C. Difficile and inflammatory bowel disease. He has been in practice for more than 50 years.
Dr. Lamont earned his medical degree at the University of Rochester School of Medicine & Dentistry and completed his residency at the University of California at Los Angeles Medical Center. His additional training includes a fellowship at Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston.
