Center for Gastrointestinal Endoscopy hosts legislative tour: 5 key notes

The Center for Gastrointestinal Endoscopy in West Palm Beach, Fla., hosted the Palm Beach Outreach Coordinator Charity Lewis.

Ms. Lewis serves on Democratic Representative Lois Frankel's staff. She toured the facility to learn more about ambulatory surgery centers and discuss the Ambulatory Surgery Center Quality and Access Act of 2015.

Here are five things to know about the Center for Gastrointestinal Endoscopy:

1. The surgery center is affiliated with AmSurg and includes express scheduling for patients 50 years and older who need a colonoscopy. They can schedule directly with the center and undergo the procedure on the same day.

2. There are four physicians associated with the center:

• Sidney Neimark, MD
• Jeffrey Wenger, MD
• Salvatore Senzatimore Jr., MD
• Elliot Ellis, MD

3. Procedures at the center include colonoscopy, flexible sigmoidoscopy, hemorrhoid banding and upper endoscopy.

4. The surgery center has Accreditation Association for Ambulatory Health Care accreditation and is Medicare-approved.

5. The Center for Gastrointestinal Endoscopy accepts most major insurances.
