Boston Scientific is investing $19 million in a new Galway, Ireland-based RoadRunner endoscopy design facility, Galway Advertiser reports.
Here's what you should know:
1. The company said by 2020 it'll also invest $19 million in endoscopy research.
2. Boston Scientific believes more than 300 physicians will be able to aid in the development of metal stents in the new facility.
3. It's believed through the RoadRunner process researchers will create devices in as little as six months.
4. Boston Scientifics Senior Vice President of Endoscopy Art Butcher said to the Advertiser, "[Boston Scientific's] investment in Galway signified our commitment to ensuring the long-term sustainability of innovation here and to investing in the technology of the future."
