This week, the Washington Senate passed a bill preventing the state from increasing fees on outpatient surgery centers above the inflation rate, according to KPQ.
Here are four things to know:
1. The bill also states outpatient facilities can only be inspected once every 18 months.
2. State legislators proposed the bill because many centers have previously paid unreasonably high fees.
3. The Senate passed the bill without opposition.
4. The state House will now consider the legislation.
