Bonnie Uytengsu donated $10 million to Palo Alto, Calif.-based Lucile Packard Children's Hospital Stanford to further the development of the health system's surgery center, the Almanac News reports.
Here's what you should know:
1. Ms. Uytengsu's donation will help the hospital build a high-tech surgery center. In recognition of her donation, the surgery suites will bear her name.
2. The project will add six surgical suites, increasing the hospital's total number of surgical suites to 13, the most of any children's hospital in Northern California.
3. The center will include a neuro-focused hybrid operating room and imaging equipment as well.
