Several healthcare industry leaders have come out in support of Scott Gottlieb's, MD, recent appointment to lead the FDA, Medical Plastics News reports.

1. Advanced Medical Technology Association President and CEO Scott Whitaker and AdvaMed praised the appointment.
2. The California Life Sciences Association was also supportive of Dr. Gottlieb.
3. Dr. Gottlieb was a past advocate for policies that streamlined drug development and approval, according to California Life Sciences Association President and CEO Sara Radcliffe.
Ms. Radcliffe said the organization expects Dr. Gottlieb "will be an exemplary leader for the FDA."
