"We are excited about this opportunity to give The Brevard Specialty Surgery Center a second chance at success," Jeff Péo, vice president of development for ASCOA, said in the release. "We have already implemented the ASCOA management model and recruited additional physician partners, which are both key to accomplishing our long-term goal of increased case volume and profitability."
Dr. David Malis, a pediatric ENT surgeon, is one of the new physician partners. Having practiced at the center in the past, Dr. Malis was aware of the challenges the center was facing and is pleased with the changes ASCOA is making. “I have chosen to come back to The Brevard Specialty Surgery Center and invest as a partner,” he said in the release. “As a physician, I know my patients will receive excellent care and compassion from the staff, and their parents will have a friendly and efficient experience. As a businessman, I know the surgery center will receive the guidance and management it needs from ASCOA.”
The 11 physician partners in The Brevard Specialty Surgery Center provide outpatient services in general surgery, gastroenterology, urology and otolaryngology. The center is fully licensed to provide outpatient surgical services and is a recognized Medicare provider facility, according to the release.
