Orthopaedic Specialty Group opens Connecticut facility with ASC
Orthopaedic Specialty Group, P.C. opened a new 50,000-square-foot building in Fairfield, Conn., which houses Fairfield Surgery Center. Orthopaedic Specialty Group, a 24-physician and seven-physician assistant private practice, opened the facility this past September as a flagship to three satellite offices and three orthopedic walk-in centers.
Southwestern Vermont Medical Center opens multispecialty center
Bennington-based Southwestern Vermont Medical Center opened its multispeciality practice office. The center moved the health system's gastroenterology, infectious disease, neurology, pulmonology and rheumatology into one practice.
SurgCenter Development completes 20k TJRs
SurgCenter Development completed its 20,000th joint replacement since launching its joint replacement program in 2013. In 2016, SurgCenter centers performed nearly 7,000 joint replacements.
Tennessee Surgery Center adds 2 providers
Chattanooga, Tenn.-based Erlanger Health System is adding Daniel Robert Cronk Jr., MD, and Rachel Newmyer, RN, to its Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery Center.
Fire breaks out at Virginia building with ASC
A fire broke out at Charlottesville, Va.-based Sentara Martha Jefferson Outpatient Care Center, causing the building's ASC to shut its doors temporarily. The fire caused nearly $268,000 in damage and the surgery center will stay closed until next week. The Outpatient Care Center is currently open.
Fresenius Vascular Care rebrands to grow renal-focused ASC business
Fresenius Vascular Care is changing its name to Azura Vascular Care to reflect the company's changes within the last several years. Azura Vascular Care President Jeff Snodgrass said the rebranding decision will help show the company's many abilities and will "set the stage for continued growth of the business, which includes leading the next generation of renal-focused ASCs."
Planners break ground on Maryland ASC
Trammell Crow and Meadow Partners broke ground on a new five-story medical pavilion in National Harbor, Md. It will house an ASC and will offer other services including wellness, orthopedics and dermatology, among others.
